2021 Jeep Compass

The 2021 Jeep Compass comes in four main trims: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. The Latitude trim includes two sub-trims with the Altitude and 80th Anniversary Edition. The Sport trim comes with 16-inch steel wheels, while the Latitude and Trailhawk add 17-inch alloy wheels. The Limited trim includes 18-inch alloy wheels, while the 80th Anniversary Edition has 19-inch alloy wheels.

All 2021 Compass vehicles come with the same engine: a 2.4-liter inline-four that produces 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. It comes paired with a six-speed automatic transmission on the lower trims and those with front-wheel drive. Jeep eliminated the six-speed manual transmission option. If your SUV has all-wheel drive or is the Limited or Trailhawk trim, you get a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard on the lower three trims, and all-wheel drive is optional on all trims except the Trailhawk as it comes standard.

For fuel economy, the 2021 Compass gets an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway if your vehicle has front-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive models give you similar mileage with 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

The interior of the Sport trim on the 2021 Compass is minimal, only coming standard with cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front seats, but upgrades are available that include heated front seats as well as a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Latitude trim adds vinyl and cloth upholstery as standard, with an optional eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat and a panoramic sunroof. With the Limited and Trailhawk trims, you gain leather upholstery and the optional features in the Latitude. Available upgrades with this trim include an eight-way power-adjustable front passenger seat as well as ventilated and heated seats.

Jeep outfitted the Compass with its user-friendly Uconnect infotainment system paired with a 7-inch touch-screen display. The responsive screen has well-arranged menus, making navigating through different screens a breeze. The SUV also comes standard with Bluetooth, two USB ports, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Available upgrades include an 8.4-inch touch-screen display, navigation, and HD radio.

When it comes to cargo space, the Compass has 27.2 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats. If you fold down those seats, the number increases to 59.8 cubic feet. The cargo area is wide and has plenty of small-item storage. To help you get items in and out of the trunk, the Limited and Trailhawk trims also offer a power liftgate.

The base 2021 Compass only comes standard with a rearview camera, but there are numerous safety upgrades available. For 2021, the Limited and Trailhawk trims now come standard with the Driver Assistance Group package, while the Latitude trim makes this package optional. In this package, you'll find adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and active lane control.
